Senior Applications Engineer

JSR Micro is hiring a Senior Application Engineer at it subsidiary Inpria to push the boundaries of EUV lithography. You work at IMEC, Leuven, Belgium, where you join our diverse and talented R&D team as we extend the limits of EUV Lithography. This position carries responsibilities for the design, coordination, and execution of lithography experiments as well as the analysis of the derived data. You will bring in the interpretation and comprehension of lithographic results communicate the learnings to the wider R&D organization. Job content
- Work inside IMEC’s 300mm fab to execute lithography and process experiments employing multiple fab tools.
- Designing and executing experiments that can screen the correlation of multiple resist and process variables with the final lithographic performance with a strong focus on real-case customer-related contexts.
- Designing and executing experiments to identify, correct and/or leverage the influence of the gas phase composition during processing steps on the ultimate lithographic performance of MORs
- Coordinate with other team members to allocate time and resources for proposed experiments and associated metrology
- Collaborate internally with other team members and the R&D department to link lithographic data with chemical insight, supporting the chemical design of new materials and processing conditions that can deliver unprecedentedly high resolution for future nodes.
- Identify and develop new methodologies to optimize resist processing and/or metrology, with a strong focus on gas – solid interactions.
- Utilize (new or established) data analysis protocols to parameterize data sets and derive application-related conclusions.
- Report the experimental learnings to internal stakeholders and to customer team.
- Respond dynamically to customer needs and emerging applications. Coordinate the experimental work to meet the deadlines.
- Regularly attend internal and external meetings outside of standard EU time slots.
- Keep a well-structured storage of the generated data in accordance with the company’s data management policies.
- Limited international travel to provide customer specific application support.
Who are you?
- M.S or Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering or related discipline
- Photolithography and wafer handling experience
- User knowledge of software for batch data processing and statistical analysis
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills in English
- Teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative research environment with lab and fab personnel
- Knowledge of fab logistics, track and scanner operation strongly preferred
- Ability to manipulate equipment to control processing environments such as gas manifolds, modules for sample handling in airtight conditions, gas bottles, and gas sensors are a plus.
